Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and will close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the following requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home which has a combined gross household earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined house profits does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or intend to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET nsfas 2025 colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
